We have to work together so we’re able to keep the things we have, like our health care and other benefits.

32BJ Endorses Keith Wright for US Congress

New York –32BJ SEIU members today announced their endorsement of Keith Wright for the US House of Representatives representing New York’s 13th District.

“Keith has always stood up for working men and women in our state,” said 32BJ President Hector Figueroa. “He’s fought for good jobs and fair pay for New Yorkers and affordable housing, immigration reform that keeps families together and economic and educational opportunities for all. Our members know he will continue to fight for hard-working people like them in Congress.”

Assemblyman Wright helped raise the minimum wage in 2012 and wrote and sponsored the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. He has stood with working people time and again in their fight for fair pay and decent lives for their families and a bright future for their children.

“Without our service industry workers New York City would not be the vibrant city that it is: our doormen, our window cleaners, our security officers, but too many working families struggle to pay their bills and hold decent paying jobs,” Assemblyman Wright said. “32BJ knows that working families don’t have to be working poor. They are dedicated to raising the living wage and providing high quality jobs for all workers. I am honored to have the endorsement of 32BJ SEIU and look forward to working with them to continue to fight for our service employees.”

Assemblyman Wright has supported 32BJ members fighting for good jobs and he’s stood with NYC-area airport workers fighting for fair pay and a union.

32BJ members will hit the streets in support of Assemblyman Wright’s campaign, and plan to knock on doors, make calls and get out the vote to help push him to victory in November.

With more than 145,000 members in 11 states, including 70,000 in New York City, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country.
